Many of you may recognize Rick Genest from his cameo in Lady Gaga's "Born this Way" Video, or perhaps you've seen him on the runway for Mugler... or maybe you've seen him in Fashion Editorial spreads like this one! Recently Rick Genest joined forces with Nicola Formichetti and Mugler and since he has become a sensation all his own. The reality is that Rick is a walking work of art as he is primarily known for his insane tattoos which have garnered him the name "Zombie Boy"

On the latest issue of Schön Magazine we can see "Zombie Boy's" face! or at least a part of it. His face appears tattoo-less which I think reveals some of Rick's personality. My girlfriend is a stylist and assisted Nicola Formichetti with wardrobe during the "Born this Way" video shoot and she described Rick as being a bit quiet and serious from a distance, but really cool and down to earth once you start talking to him. In this last shot especially we can see most of Rick's face uncovered, which I think shows a much softer side. Anyway... Isn't this a great shoot? What do yo guys think?

Cool in Givenchy

I've Always Loved these Givenchy SS 2011 printed trousers... Wanted to incorporate them into an Illustrations and this is what I came up with! Decided to pair it with a Fedora from the Alexander Mcqueen Spring 2012 men's collection. Blue Head band and beaded necklace, my own touch.

I am a very big fan and follower of men's wear and men's fashion. As a man I think it is important for us to think outside the box and not be so... black and white. I don't mean so much to follow trends but really to find one's own individual style and identity when it comes to dressing, not be afraid of a little color and for god's sake, experiment a little! We men are already extremely limited with our fashion, especially in New York City. I think lots of men here are curious to try things but are almost afraid of how people or especially other men might perceive them. I for one believe that not being afraid to try something new and different, when you can pull it off of course, shows character and confidence.

I read most men's wear publications... or at least look at all the pictures haha! Vogue Hommes Japan however, always manages to push the limits and create pure art. This is why I love this publication. I saw these shots on Models.com as a preview of the greatness to come in the new Fall/ Winter 2012 issue of Vogue Hommes Japan and I just had to share it with you guys. I'm loving the concept and all the different elements and uses of color in these shots. It has a dark, Gothic and almost Tudor Dynasty/ Baroque era feel to it,   I also love the religious influence, which I think is always awesome when incorporated into styling, very Givenchy esque.... I almost want to blow a few of these up and frame them! Superb work, photographed by Willy Vanderpere and Styled by Panos Yiapanis.

She Bites

Isn't she Vicious?? I call it "She Bites" My inspiration, the beauty of a Charles James gown and True Blood. How HOT the sight of a gorgeous, naughty lady vamp in a vintage Charles James gown... Ahhh... Only in my head.

JULY 13TH

Here's an Illustration I worked on this summer... I call it July 13th. This was a pretty eventful summer and a hot one too! So sad to see it go... Here come the fast, cold and dark days of Winter in NYC. All I have left is this illustration to remind me of the tan lines that once were and what a fun and scorching hot summer it was... I miss it already!

Elvira Hancock in Versace Spring Summer 2011

These are some conceptual images I used as inspiration to work on the Illustration. Here is Michelle Pfeiffer at her best as Elvira Hancock, in one of my all time favorite films, Scarface.

I have always thought that Elvira Hancock, the unforgettable platinum blonde in Scarface, has been one of the sexiest female characters ever in the history of film. When Versace's Spring/ Summer 2011 collection hit the runway I immediately envisioned all of the fringe gowns and cocktail dresses being worn by the A- List celebrities and models that owned the nights of Studio 54. I was born in the 80's but have always had a great appreciation for the dirty, over the top, sexy glamor of the 1970's.

I thought that Elvira would be the perfect girl to wear this killer dress and immediately felt compelled to create an Illustration of her wearing it in teal, as I'm sure she would have had this dress been available then...  Well, hope you like, Let me know what you think!
